PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE REVIEWING THE TABLES
This transfer equivalency guide shows how courses transfer to UT Martin from other colleges and universities. Please note that equivalencies are subject to change as course content and offerings are revised at the University. Please review UT Martin’s complete Transfer Credit Policy in the Undergraduate Catalog for further information.
Note: If an institution or course does not appear on the list, then an official equivalency has not yet been determined. Transfer institutions and courses will be added to the list as official equivalencies are determined.
PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE TRANSFER COURSE PREFIX, NUMBER AND TITLE AND MAKE SURE IT MATCHES THE COURSE YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY TAKEN OR PLAN TO TAKE. (For example, BIO is different from BIOL; ENG versus ENGL; MTH versus MATH)
Group Codes
Transfer courses with a group number (far left column of the table) indicate how two or more transferring courses together determine the UT Martin equivalency. These courses may also have a UT Martin equivalency specified when transferred as an individual course. Please note that you must take all courses with the same group number in order to receive the designated UT Martin course equivalency for that group, otherwise the individual course(s) will be evaluated for course credit.Number Designations
UT Martin uses many different unique number designations for transfer courses. They are:- BL = could possibly be used to fulfill a particular course requirement, but this depends on your specific major/program/degree
- GE = meets general education requirement in that subject area from public TN community colleges and universities
- LD = lower division (100-200 level) course credit
- OGE = meets general education requirement in that subject area from private and out of state colleges and universities
- UD = upper division (300-400 level) course credit
Effective Term Dates
Transfer courses with an effective term must have been taken during the term listed or later for the UT Martin equivalent course(s) credit to be awarded. The UT Martin equivalent course(s) may differ if the transfer course is taken prior to the designated effective term. Transfer courses without an effective term receive credit for what is indicated in the UT Martin equivalent course column.
